Diverting for cheese straws at Luders Swiss Patisserie in Teignmouth

It’s a self-indulgent and guilty secret to emerge from Luders Swiss Patisserie with a small paper bag of three or four cheese straws. Don’t think about the calories just concentrate on the seriously cheesy taste and perfect texture of possibly the finest cheese straws in the world! I’ve known people phone weeks in advance to ensure their holiday supplies.

This gem of a bakers and confectioners in Teignmouth’s Triangle is well worth diverting for. Their window is crammed full of tempting savoury and sweet tarts, croissant, artfully decorated cakes and a very superior Swiss Cornish pasty. At Easter the window is chock-full of their homemade chocolate bunnies and eggs of all shapes and sizes. If you can’t wait to sample their goodies, order a coffee and cake and sit at one of their sunny outside tables beside the Triangle fountain…but guard your cake from the seagulls, they’re experts at swooping in to grab a bite!
